    Help!

I have asked a question in an online survey (amongst other, more easily managed likert scale questions) that asked respondents to rank 4 options (from 1 to 4) in order of perceived potential benefit (half were asked to rank 1-4 [lowest to highest perceived benefit] and half to rank 4-1 [lowest to highest perceived benefit] - the second half were then reverse scored for analysis purposes) to their industry sector. Each rank (1,2,3,4) could only be used once and every option had to receive a rank - so for every respondent, ranks 1,2,3,4 were assigned to the 4 options in the respondents chosen order. Respondents were self-nominated/categorised into one of 5 different industry sectors. I am interested in analysing the differences between the 5 industry sectors. Is there a way beyond just tabulating the frequencies/% as descriptive analysis for each sector to actually test for significance of difference between sectors?

I suspect I will need to look at each option individually and even within each sector for each option (ie. between sector group for each option and between options for each sector group) rather than assess all options for all industry sectors at the one time? But HOW?!

    I'm using SPSS.

Thank you so much for any help you can offer. I love your website - it's a fabulous resource.
