Misc. Stats Topics Discussion > Ranking

Hello,

I am quite new to statistics and I try to find a way to build a ranking.

Here is the situation:

I verify the naming performance and detection performance of AV products. I would like for each product to combine both performance values keeping in mind that the naming is more important to a certain degree than the detection performance. I though about using a weighted average to calculate this and give a higher weight to the naming than to the detection but how do I distribute the weights?

I read also about discriminante function analysis since I thought I may discriminate the detection performance but I think that's not the way to go...but I may be wrong.

Could someone give me some help with this?

Many thanks,
Yves

First of all, allow me to apologize for the extremely delayed nature of my response. Unfortunately, my forum notifications were being sent to an inactive email, so I didn't become aware of new posts for a long time.

As for your question, I'm not completely clear about your intention. What do you want to do ultimately?
