I'd probably assign a code to each condition (1 through 4 probably works easiest) and then simply assign the codes values in the "variable view" screen of SPSS. For example, Condition A =1, Condition B=2, ...etc.
If you handle it this way, you can sort by condition if you want to visually see the data grouped, while you can also use the codes to specify groups in analysis such as ANOVAS. I hope that helps and let me know if you have additional questions!
HI Stats guy, I have a question regarding the best method to enter and handle data or group data for different conditions. My experiment has 4 different conditions with 30 participants in each condition. Is there a way I can group these items to make them easier to work with once I begin analysis?
