MANCOVA and MANOVA Discussion > CONFUSED PSYCH STUDENT MANCOVA HELP

Hi there I am currently working on my dissertation and I need to carry out a MANCOVA. I have 6 dependent variables and 5 covariates. I am just wondering if in SPSS i am supposed to add in all 6 dependents at once followed by fixed factor which for my study is gender (i think thats the categorical IV), followed by my 5 covariates. I guess my question is whether a MANCOVA is one SPSS output or do i have to carry out seperate ones?

Hey Chloe,

In general you are able to enter multiple predictors (covariates and factors) in one analysis (MANCOVA, in this case), but the order in which you enter them is a conceptual decision, as entering them in the model in different orders answers different statistical/conceptual questions. I hope that is helpful. Please let me know if you have additional questions!
